Our Mission: To empower our students to discover, develop, and manage their unique gifts and talents.
What Makes Us Unique
At Umbrella Learning Academy, we believe every child deserves an education designed just for them. We turn that belief into action through two core pillars:
Data-Driven Intention: Our individualized learning plans feature weekly assessments that give us a precise breakdown of mastered skills and areas needing extra care. This ensures your child's learning is always intentional, measurable, and meaningful.
Active Family Partnership: Family is at the heart of everything we do. Through diverse volunteer roles and Family Board opportunities—both in the classroom and behind the scenes—we collaborate closely with home to maximize student success and strengthen our community.
Beyond the Mission: How We Teach
How do we bring this mission to life every day? By focusing on the individual. We recognize that learning styles are as unique as the students themselves. Here is how our unique model supports your child's growth:
Individualized Learning Plans: Every student receives a customized academic roadmap tailored to how they naturally absorb, process, and express information.
Continuous Progress Tracking: We don't wait for report cards to see how a student is doing. We actively monitor growth in real time to understand their learning journey.
Focused Challenge Resolution: When a student hits a difficult concept, we pivot. We focus our attention and resources on their specific areas of frustration, transforming challenges into moments of mastery and confidence.

ULA students also participate in 4-H, the largest youth development organization in the United States, serving over 6 million youth ages 5–21. Through hands-on, mentor-led projects focused on STEM, healthy living, agriculture, and civic engagement, students develop leadership and life skills through the powerful philosophy of learning by doing. Administered by the USDA and land-grant universities, 4-H helps students grow into confident, capable leaders.
To further strengthen our school culture, we’ve adopted the Ron Clark Academy House System, a positive behavioral framework that fosters belonging, character, and school spirit. Students are sorted into internationally recognized houses—Amistad, Altruismo, Isibindi, and Rêveur—and earn points for academics, character, and effort. This system boosts engagement, encourages healthy competition, and builds a strong, supportive community.
