Engaging our students with hands-on STEAM activities piques their curiosity and encourages further exploration of Science, Teachnology, Engineering, Arts, and Mathematics.
This year, we’ve elevated STEAM learning through our exploration of FIRST LEGO League. FIRST LEGO League (FLL) is a global STEM program for students that use LEGO® technology to immerse learners in hands-on problem-solving through themed, real-world challenges. With a strong focus on robotics, coding, and research, FLL encourages teamwork, critical thinking, and innovation across three age-specific divisions.
Students in grades 4–8 may also apply to join our FIRST LEGO League Competition Team, Ctrl+Atl+Create. Through collaborative challenges and participation in global events, students experience dynamic, hands-on STEM learning that builds confidence, creativity, and advanced problem-solving skills. (Age restrictions apply.)
2023-2024, we focused on Earth Science. Our students concentrated on earth science, engaging in activities like recycling, creating eco-bricks, and growing plants from seeds.
In 2022-2022 we shifted our focus to critical thinking and problem-solving skills. We are following the Artemis missions as we see how machines are propelling us through space.
In 2021-2022 we focused on the basics of coding with Scratch and Code.org. Our students utilized programming to relate to concepts they were learning in all other areas of study. They learned to program robots to move, communicate and follow given directions.
